Who is Saint Anne?
Saint Anne is the mother of Mary and the grandmother of Jesus Christ. According to the New Testament apocrypha, Saint Anne was a devout woman who prayed for a child with her husband, Joachim. After many years, an angel appeared to them, promising a child. In gratitude, Saint Anne vowed to dedicate the child to God. Their daughter, Mary, was born, and Saint Anne raised her with devotion, teaching her the scriptures.

Saint Anne is the patron saint of mothers, women in labor, minors, and grandparents. She is also one of the patron saints of Brittany and Canada.
