GPSR Compliance & International Customs
We comply with applicable UK and EU product safety requirements. For products supplied to customers in the European Union and Northern Ireland, an EU Responsible Person (EURP) is appointed where required. Manufacturer and EU Responsible Person details are available on request and are provided with products where applicable.
European Union Orders
From 1 July 2026, qualifying low-value consignments entering the European Union with an intrinsic value of €150 or less are subject to a temporary €3 customs duty for each different tariff classification or category of goods contained in the consignment.
This charge is based on the customs or commodity classification of the goods rather than simply the number of individual products purchased. For example, several 925 sterling silver jewellery items falling under the same tariff classification may attract one €3 customs duty. If an order also contains a product with a different classification, such as base-metal imitation jewellery, a further €3 may apply. A gemstone, mineral or other product classified separately may result in an additional €3 charge.
Where this EU customs duty applies to your order, we pay the applicable €3 customs charge or charges as part of the shipping process. These charges are not passed on to you at delivery where they are covered by our DDP or PDDP shipping service.
Because customs classification depends on the type and material of the products ordered, the total customs amount can vary when an order contains products from more than one commodity or tariff category.
United States Orders
Duty-free de minimis treatment for most low-value imports into the United States has been suspended. This means imported goods may be subject to applicable customs duties, tariffs, taxes or fees according to their commodity classification, country of origin and current US import requirements.
Our USA orders are sent using a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service where applicable. This means the applicable import duty or tariff is paid by us in advance through our shipping service, so customers should not normally be asked to pay those same import duties again when the parcel is delivered.
Customs & Commodity Classification
We complete all required customs documentation accurately and declare products using the appropriate customs description and commodity or tariff classification. Customs rules and charges vary according to the products contained in an order, their material, classification, value, country of origin and destination.
Any taxes, customs charges or carrier fees that fall outside the charges covered by our DDP or PDDP shipping service remain subject to the rules of the destination country.
