Metiorite / Tektite

Meteorite: A meteorite is a rock or metal fragment from outer space that survives its passage through the Earth’s atmosphere to reach the surface. They offer insights into our solar system’s composition and history and are classified into stony, iron, and stony-iron types, often featuring a thin fusion crust from atmospheric entry. Tektites are small, glassy objects formed from Earth material melted and cooled by meteorite impacts. Unlike extraterrestrial meteorites, tektites originate from terrestrial debris. Found in strewn fields, they are usually black, green, brown, or gray, and composed mainly of silica.

In summary, meteorites are space rocks that land on Earth, while tektites are Earth-derived glass created by meteorite impacts. Both reveal insights into celestial impacts and the materials involved.
