We comply with applicable UK and EU product safety requirements. For products supplied to customers in the European Union and Northern Ireland, an EU Responsible Person (EURP) is appointed where required. Manufacturer, product safety and EU Responsible Person information is available on request and is provided with products where applicable.
From 1 July 2026, qualifying low-value consignments entering the European Union with an intrinsic goods value of €150 or less may be subject to a temporary EU customs duty of €3 for each applicable type of goods contained within the consignment.
The duty is based on the customs classification and origin of the goods rather than simply the number of individual products purchased. Products sharing the same applicable tariff classification and country of origin may be treated as one type of goods, while products with a different classification or origin may create an additional charge.
For example, several sterling silver jewellery items falling within the same applicable classification and origin may attract one tariff charge. If the same order also contains base-metal jewellery, a gemstone item or another product falling within a different applicable classification, a further tariff charge may apply.
Our website operates in GBP. Rather than applying a changing EUR to GBP exchange rate to every order, we collect a fixed £3 EU Customs Commodity Tariff charge for each applicable type of goods identified within the order.
As a guide, an order containing one applicable type of goods will normally show a £3 tariff charge. Two applicable types will normally show £6, while three applicable types will normally show £9.
A separate £1 EU Customs Handling Fee is charged once per qualifying EU order to contribute towards the administration and processing of the customs payment.
These amounts are collected from the customer at checkout so that the applicable customs and processing charges can be paid through our international delivery service when the parcel is dispatched.
Where VAT is applicable, WooCommerce calculates VAT separately according to the customer's delivery destination and the tax rules applicable to the order. The customs commodity tariff and handling fee are shown separately from the product price and delivery charge at checkout.
Orders imported into the United States may be subject to customs duties or tariffs depending on the product's tariff classification, country of origin, value and the applicable US import requirements.
Where our USA delivery service is provided on a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) basis, applicable import duties or tariffs are collected or paid in advance through the shipping process. Customers should therefore not normally be asked to pay those same import duties again when the parcel is delivered.
We complete the required customs documentation at the time of dispatch and declare products using the appropriate customs description, commodity or tariff classification, value and country of origin information available to us.
Customs rules, tariff classifications, exchange rates, tax rates and import requirements can vary by destination and may change. Any charge not collected by us in advance and not covered by our delivery service remains subject to the requirements of the destination country's customs authority or delivery carrier.
If you would like further information about EU customs charges, commodity codes, country of origin, VAT, USA tariffs, manufacturer information or our appointed EU Responsible Person, please contact us and we will be happy to provide further information.
