The botanic name of the Tulsi / Holy Basil plant is Ocimum tenuiflorum,
Ocimum sanctum and Ocimum gratissimum.
The plant comes in many varieties such as Krishna Tulsi,
Rama Tulsi, Kapoora Tulsi and Vana Tulsi.

The sacred Tulsi Plant is valued for it’s wondrous and many
healing powers. Since ancient times, the inhabitants of india while
practicing medicine, religion and cooking, used the Tulsi plant (Holy Basil).

worshiped by the Vaisnavas, and Her leaves are offered to only Lord Krsna / Vishnu.
